Attalos I as king. From acropolis of Pergamon c 230-198 BC. The second cast of the same portrait has an added 'wreath' of hair attached later to the head in separately made pieces. It includes a plain flat headband - the royal diadem. This painstaking adjustment was made after Attalos assumed the title of king in 230BC. Both diadem and full hair express royal status.
