The final of the "National Seafood Cook 1972" was held in the Great Southern Hotel, Killarney, Co Kerry.The winner was Miss Mary Coleman (14 years old) from the Vocational School in Claremorris, Co Mayo. The title of the winning dish was "Amber Ring". She was chosen from 18 regional finalists. Image of the competition winner, Mary Coleman with her award winning entry "Amber Ring".
