President John F. Kennedy makes history by becoming the first visitor to address both houses of the Oireachtas (Parlaiment) in Dublin. It was also the first time that news photographs were allowed to be taken during a setting of the houses. Members of the Goverenment led by Taoiseach Seán Lemass are seated on the left hand side of the house. The opposition benches are on the right.
