Molly Malone Statue Unveiled. (R93)..1988..20.12.1988..12.20.1988..20th December 1988.."Dublin's Fair City" received a millenniun gift to commemorate her most famous daughter, Molly Malone, when Jurys Hotel Group plc presented a specially commissioned sculpture to the people of Dublin. The sculpture was formally handed over by Michael McCarthy, MD,Jurys Hotel Group, to the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ben Briscoe, TD, in an unveiling ceremony today at the corner of Grafton Street, Suffolk Street and Nassau Street..Molly Malone was created and fashioned in her traditional 17th century dress by Dublin born artist, Jeanne Rynhart, who was selected from a number of entries for the statue design, by the Dublin Millennium Board...In the shadow of the Christmas tree, Lord Mayor Ben Briscoe TD, Mr Michael McCarthy MD, Jurys Hotel Group and the artist Jeanne Rynhart are pictured waving for the cameramen at the official unveiling of "Molly Malone".Add to Cart
