Taoiseach Sean Lemass presents staff and pennon for Liberty Hall. the tricolour pennon and band-master's staff were taken by a British officer from Liberty Hall during the 1916 Rising. A brother of the officer gave the items to Dr. Edward P. Carey of London in 1952 who presented them to Eamon de Valera who in turn presented them to the National Museum. Picture shows Mr. Lemass (third from right) handing over the staff and pennon to (from left) Mr. Patrick O'Brien, National Trustee; Mr. Jack Brady, National Trustee; Mr. Edward Browne, Vice President; Mr. John Conroy, General President of the Union; Mr. Edward Browne, Vice President and Mr. Fintan Kennedy, General Secretary, I.T.G.W.U..
