(J87)..1975..07.11.1975..11.07.1975..7th November 1975..A stained glass window depicting the martyrdom of St Oliver Plunket was unveiled today at Irish Stained Glass Co.,Hanover Quay, Dublin 2..St Oliver Plunket was tried in London on the basis of a fabricated plot to bring French troops into Ireland to help oust the English. Although there was no truth in the accusations he was condemmed and sentenced to be executed. He was hung,drawn and quartered at Tyburn Hill,London England. He was beatified in the 1920s and was Canonised in 1975 the first Irish saint for 700 years...The mummified head of St Oliver is on display in the shrine at St Peters Catholic Church, Drogheda, Co Louth..Oliver Plunkett 1629 - 1681.
