The highlight of Gorta’s twenty-first anniversary World Food Day was the presentation of an FAO (UN Food and Agriculture Organisation) medal to Bob Geldof. The medal was presented by An Taoiseach Dr Garret FitzGerald in recognition of Bob’s contribution towards famine relief in the third world. In the midst of the media scrum, and deep in conversation with the Taoiseach, Bob still has time to sign autographs for fans.
