Arms Find Aboard The Merchant Ship "Claudia"..1973..29.03.1973..03.29.1973..29th March 1973..On the 28th March three Irish naval vessels intrcepted a ship near Helvick Head,Co Waterford. The ship,"The Claudia" was found to contain over 5 tonnes of weaponery destined for the Provisional I.R.A. in Ireland. The weapons included over 1000 rifles and hand guns,Semtex plastic explosive,rocket launchers and land mines. The weapons originated in Libya.
