Miss "World Fishing" 1971..1971..13.03.1971..03.13.1971..13th March 1971..To present the more glamorous side of the fishing industry B.I.M. (Bord Iascaigh Mhara) organised a Miss World style competition for young women within the fishing industry.The winner, selected from six finalists from fishing ports around the country, will represent B.I.M. at the forthcoming World Fishing Exhibition to be held in Ireland. The winner will receive an all expenses paid trip to Paris for two courtesy of Normandy Ferries and a complete ensemble from "Open Till Eight" fashions..Pictured on the harbour wall at Dun Laoghaire,"Miss World Fishing" Ms Ann Scallan is surrounded by local fishermen.
