The John Jameson Cup race was run on this day at Punchestown. The sponsor of the race was Irish Distillers Ltd. The race, an extended handicap novice steeplechase, is for horses that are four years old or above that have not won a steeplechase on or before 1st Sept.,75. The race was won by "No Hill" owned by Mrs J. B. O'Callaghan, ridden by Mr T. M. Walsh and trained by Mr R Walsh.
