Among the leading personalities gathered to sign the National Declaration regarding the future of the Irish Language were Proinnsios Moc a'Bheatha, (Glun na Bua); Mrs Beatrice Behan, widow of the playwright; Miss Neilli Mulcahy, dress designer and Miss Mary O'Higgins, Secretary Macra na Tuaithe.
