Handover of Old Guinness Truck. (M83)..1979..24.07.1979..07.24.1979..24th July 1979..The Albion Truck registration number RLV 154 was officially handed over to the Howth, National Transport Museum today. The vehicle was found in a scrap yard and purchased by the museum. History checking on the vehicle found that it had been part of the Guinness fleet both in Ireland and England. On hearing about the truck Guinness came on board and helped restore the vehicle to its former glory. An eight wheeler of model type HD57 it is classed as a very rare model. The truck is powered by a six cylinder 'Whispering Giant' engine..Albion were a commercial vehicle builder based in Scotland..To see this and many other rare vehicles The museum is located in the Heritage Depot, Howth Demesne, Howth, Ireland. 60 vehicles are currently in Howth on display. .Image shows the official handover of the "Albion" by Guinness to the National Transport Museum.
