In 1975 Ardmore Studios was renamed The National Film Studios of Ireland, with Seamus Smith as managing director and film director John Boorman as chairman. Pictured at the opening are (l-r): Seamus Smith, Justin Keating, Minister for Industry and Commerce and John Boorman. The studios hosted several major films including 'The Purple Taxi' and The Great Train Robbery'.
