Baby Elephants presented To Dublin Zoo. (M82)..1979..18.07.1979..07.18.1979..18th July 1979..H.B. Ice Cream yesterday presented two baby elephants from Thailand to the Zoological Gardens, Phoenix Park, Dublin..In acknowledging the gift, Mr Terry Murphy,Director of the Zoo, said that they had been without an elephant of their own for some time. The one currently there was on loan from a zoo in England and would be returned there shortly.. Hearing this H B decided to sponsor the importation of the two young elephants from Bangkok, Thailand..Image shows Mr Ted Murphy feeding tid bits to one of the elephants as a happy Mr Terry Murphy and other zoo staff look on.
