(H40).1974..06.10.1974..10.06.1974..6th October 1974..Today saw the arrival of some of the international artistes who will appear at the Guinness sponsored Wexford Opera festival. opera stars rom all over the world will arrive to perform at the festival. This year the festival will be opened by T.V., and singing star,Mr Val Doonican. The opening will include Illuminations,band parades and a firework display. Mr Thomson Smillie of Scottish Opera will be artistic director this year replacing Mr Brian Dickie..Pictured welcoming the singers to Dublinh Airport was Mr Nicholas Furlong of the Wexford Festival Council. The Singers were were, Ms Joan Davies, London, Mr Anthony Ransome, London, Ms Mary Hill, London, Ms Helen McArthur, Glasgow,and Mr Kevork Boyaciyan, Turkey.
