Press conference to announce an alliance of three Irish Banks at the Intercontinental Hotel, Dublin. The Boards of the Munster and Leinster Bank Ltd.; Provincial Bank of Ireland Ltd. and the Royal Bank Of ireland Ltd. announced the scheme for the alliance creating a new Irish Banking Group that became Allied Irish Bank, AIB. Each bank was to retain its own identity within the group. Picture shows: Mr. E.M.R. O'Driscoll, Belfast, Chairman of the new company and Partner of Walter J.
