Dr Paul Singer (with pipe), celebrates his acquittal following the longest trial in State history up to that time, the trial lasted 47 days until Mr Justice Walsh directed the jury to return a "not guilty" verdict on eight counts of fraud arising from the operations of Shanahan's Stamp Auctions Ltd, Dun Laoghaire. It was Singer's 262nd day in court since proceedings were started against him four years earlier.
