Today,Wednesday,was declared 'National No Smoking Day"in order to heighten awareness...Pictured in Grafton,Street,Dublin,Mr Donal O'Shea,Chairman of the Health Education Bureau,in conjunction with students from The College Of Marketing and Design highlight the dangers of smoking.The students distributed fruit to passers by to give a healthy option to smoking...Note. Through the years Medical Science has determined that smoking is a major contributory factor in cancer and heart disease. With further research "Passive smoking"(that is those in the vicinity of smokers but who do not smoke themselves) was also found to be detrimental to health..In March 2004 Ireland became the first country in the World to introduce a ban on smoking in the workplace,This included pubs,cinemas and public transport etc..In 2012 the anti smoking lobby is pushing for a complete ban on smoking in all public spaces and within the confines of private cars..
