Conferring of Honorary Degrees (LL.D.) by the National Council for Educational Awards in Dublin Castle Conference Centre, Dublin. Picture shows Taoiseach Albert Reynolds, T.D. presenting Angela Collins O'Mahony, Ireland's first Woman Steeplejack with her degree. As a result of a contract she carried out at Shannon Airport for a Boston electronics firm, Mrs. Collins O'Mahony joined with them in a joint venture company. the result was a factory in her home base of Kilkishen, Co. Clare, that developed a worldwide market for radomes - protective structures for radarr equipment and antenna systems. She also created much dura employment through the development of Leisure, sport and tourism businesses.
