Franciscans leave for South Africa. Three Franciscans who left Dublin for Rome en route to the Irish Franciscan Mission of Kokstad in South Africa. They were (l-r): Rev. Fr. John Baptist Kerr O.F.M. (Drogheda); Rev. Fr. Eric Austin O.F.M (Dublin) and Rev. Fr. Manus Campbell O.F.M. (Belfast). They were present at the ceremony in St. Peter's Basilica, Rome the next Sunday when the Pope presented mission crosses to more than three hundred priests and nuns leaving for the Mission Fields.
